Title: Revising the Middle to Late Glacial History of Central & Western NY
Abstract:

This presentation will concentrate on the most recent field evidence that establishes the details concerning middle Wisconsin (39,000 years BP) through late Wisconsin (13,000 years BP; Younger Dryas cooling event) glacial advances from the Cayuga basin in the east through the Genesee Valley and further into the Cattaraugus basin of western NY.  These data will require a significant revision of peer reviewed publications on this subject and should be of interest to engineering geologists concerned with the correct glacial stratigraphy associated with projects throughout this area.
