Mr.Herrmann is a principal of Hardesty & Hanover, LLP of New York City. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Valpaiso University in 1973, and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York (now the Polytechnic Institute of New York University) in 1980

He was a member of the ASCE Executive Committee from 2007 to 2008 and again from 2009 to 2010, and he served as Society treasurer in 2010. He has held numerous positions at the regional and sectional levels, and he served as chair of the advisory council of ASCE’s 2009 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure.
